Introduction

Keysight is fully invested in the creation of complete solutions for automotive Ethernet and offers solutions for compliance testing of receivers, harness and connectors, and transmitters.  With the introduction of our electronic control unit (ECU) test application, Keysight covers all four of the standards that govern the automotive Ethernet platform:  BroadR-Reach, IEEE 100BASE-T1, IEEE1000BASE-T1, and the OPEN Alliance (One-Pair Ether-Net) ECU specifications.  The new software includes coverage for the Media Dependent Interface (MDI) mode conversion loss and common mode emission tests set by the OPEN Alliance automotive Ethernet TC8 ECU test specification.

Describe the customer problem and or market opportunity

Autonomous vehicles promise to change the nature of commercial and passenger transportation over the roadways.  Inside those new vehicles, the requirements for data speed and bandwidth demand next-generation connectivity through the evolving standards for automotive Ethernet.  As the pace of development accelerates, design teams need to stay efficient and productive as they work to create high-performance designs that properly interoperate with other autonomous vehicle systems.

How does Keysight solution solve this problem?

Keysight is fully invested in the creation of complete solutions for automotive Ethernet and now covers IEEE and OPEN Alliance standards.  To ensure future flexibility for your teams, Keysight builds solutions on upgradable platforms and invests in relevant, new technologies. Keysight also has a proven track record of participating in standards bodies, helping shape the standards, and define effective test methods.

Keysight has invested thousands of hours in learning the standards and creating automated, repeatable compliance tests. Customers don't need to know all the details of IEEE 802.3bw or IEEE 802.3bp—they need a technology partner who does.

Key Features and Business Benefits
  • Automotive Ethernet compliance software for standards-compliance and conformance testing of OPEN Alliance, BroadR-Reach, and/or 100BASE-T1 devices.
  • Specific MDI mode conversion loss and common mode emission tests set by OPEN Alliance automotive Ethernet TC8 ECU test specification, so you don't have to look them up and interpret.
  • Setup wizard for quick configuration and test, save time so you don't have to worry about remembering how to configure specific triggers or sample rates.
  • Accurate and repeatable results with Keysight Infiniium oscilloscopes.
  • Detailed information of each test that has been run, including automated reporting in a comprehensive pass/fail HTML format with margin analysis to quickly see where you need to dig in to debug.
