Keysight Technologies Announces Heidi Barnes as the 2017 DesignCon Engineer of the Year

Keysight is proud to announce that Heidi Barnes, a senior applications engineer for Keysight EEsof EDA's high-speed digital applications, was today announced as the 2017 DesignCon Engineer of the Year. The award was presented by Suzanne Deffree, editor-in-chief of Design News and content director of UBM Advanced Manufacturing, in a ceremony held at noon during DesignCon, the premier conference for chip, board, and systems design engineers in Santa Clara, CA. Barnes will take part in the DesignCon Engineer of the Year panel discussion, led by Deffree, at 3:00 p.m. today, Thursday, Feb. 2, in the Chiphead Theater (schedule.designcon.com/session/engineer-of-the-year-panel-discussion).

Barnes won from a field of five finalists selected by Design News and voted on by the DesignCon community. The award recognizes Barnes for outstanding excellence in engineering; particularly her work on a signal integrity methodology and involvement in the IEEE test fixture P370, a strong community-minded spirit as a member of the Technical Program Committee, shared knowledge through authoring papers and speaking at DesignCon, and an inspiring can-do attitude. The award also allows Barnes to direct a $10,000 donation to any secondary institution in the United States.
