SANTA CLARA, Calif., March 19, 2014
Agilent Technologies Inc. (NYSE: A) today announced it will work with the College of Engineering at the University of California, Berkeley, to provide an enhanced learning experience for engineering students using Agilent's BenchVue software.
"Our partnership with Agilent has generated a big win for our students," said Tsu-Jae King Liu, professor of electrical engineering and computer sciences and chair of the electrical engineering division in Berkeley's College of Engineering. "The BenchVue software will accelerate their learning of electrical engineering fundamentals and help make them industry-ready as they embark on their engineering careers."
Agilent's BenchVue software offers engineering students an easy and intuitive way to work without their having to learn instrument programming. BenchVue enables them to easily view, capture and export measurement data from test instruments. This approach allows students to devote more time to the engineering theory behind measurement and test in their labs. Through multiple measurement visibility and data capture, students are able to efficiently work through labs and design concepts.
Compared with traditional software used for these tasks, BenchVue is a faster and easier-to-use software environment. The companion mobile app further simplifies students' work by letting them monitor and control tests remotely while enabling the sharing of running tests with peers.
"Agilent is delighted to work with the faculty at Berkeley's EECS department to develop a richer learning experience for students," said Rod Unverrich, senior program manager for BenchVue, Agilent. "It is by working with world-class institutions that we are able to advance the forefront of measurement while providing students the best tools for their educational experience."
