SANTA CLARA, Calif., May 30, 2014
Agilent Technologies Inc. (NYSE: A) today announced that the Agilent HDMI 2.0 6G test solution has been selected by Simplay Labs after the HDMI Forum certified it as an official compliance test tool.
Agilent's solution provides the widest coverage for HDMI physical layer compliance test. Certification was achieved using the collaborative framework of Simplay Labs Authorized Test Centers, the world's leading HD testing service provider, with locations in Sunnyvale, California; Beijing, Shanghai and Shenzhen, China; and Seoul, Korea.
In the new HDMI 2.0 specification, the transmission bandwidth of 18 Gbps is one of the most important extensions that allow 4K image transmission with 4:4:4 full-color format. The Agilent ParBERT 81250A and new AWG M8190A support 18 Gbps physical-level testing, including 6G physical-level jitter tolerance and eye diagram, which are important in identifying IC level performance.
"We're glad to be working with Simplay Labs, delivering the 6G testing solution," said Stefan Friebe, HDMI program lead for Agilent. "This solution will help Simplay Labs' HDMI ATCs do faster compliance testing and development for many R&D customers."
Simplay Labs is launching the testing service to 6G bps HDMI 2.0 products. The majority of its Authorized Test Centers use the Agilent E4887A-007 high-end TMDS signal generator solution because of its full range of capabilities, performance and dedication in presenting serial data generation and analysis test capabilities to accelerate HDMI 2.0 and 1.4 tests.
"Simplay Labs is excited to announce the HDMI 2.0 6Gbps testing service is available with the support from Agilent," said Solomon Langley, general manager of Simplay Labs. "The ongoing collaboration between Agilent and Simplay Labs to deliver HDMI 2.0 testing solutions ensures that our customers have compliant products across the extensive HDMI ecosystem."
The Agilent HDMI 2.0 test solution covers all physical layer compliance tests, such as source and sink test. Agilent HDMI compliance software N5990A is available to provide test automation for fast and easy compliance testing from the company's solution partner BitifEye.
"BitifEye continues to cooperate closely with Agilent and development partners such as Simplay Labs on the rapid implementation and support of comprehensive automated HDMI test solutions," said Alexander Schmitt, CEO of BitifEye.
