SANTA ROSA, Calif., June 26, 2015
Keysight Technologies, Inc. (NYSE: KEYS) today introduced an enhanced measurement speed option for its E4990A impedance analyzer. With the new option, the low-frequency models of the E4990A are now as fast as the flagship 120-MHz E4990A model.
Today's passive component manufacturers face constant pressure to reduce cost, and speed overall test time; a difficult challenge given the realities of production. During inspection, manufacturers may have to measure many devices in a day. Or, to accurately evaluate devices like resonators or inductors, they may have to measure many points per device. These tasks are all the more challenging when those measurements are performed in impedance at low frequency.
Keysight's new enhanced measurement speed option addresses these challenges by allowing manufacturers to realize fast sweep speeds at low frequency using the affordable E4990A impedance analyzer. They can use the option with the 10 MHz (Opt. 010), 20 MHz (Opt. 020), 30 MHz (Opt. 030) or 50 MHz (Opt. 050) low-frequency options to the E4990A analyzer to enable a measurement speed improvement that's up to 10 times faster than what's currently available on the market today.
"Fast, cost-effective, and accurate impedance testing is critical in the manufacture of passive components," said Akira Nukiyama, vice president and general manager of Keysight's Component Test Division, Kobe. "With our new enhanced measurement speed option, manufacturers now have the ability to quickly perform the required evaluation and testing in the low frequency region, while also reducing the overall cost-of-test."
Keysight's E4990A impedance analyzer is designed for R&D, quality assurance, production and inspection engineers characterizing and evaluating passive electronic components, semiconductor devices and materials. The analyzer has a frequency range of 20 Hz to 10/20/30/50/120 MHz and provides an industry best 0.045 percent (typical) basic accuracy over a wide impedance range, with a 40-V built-in DC bias source. An equivalent circuit analysis function supports seven different multi-parameter models and enables engineers to simulate their own equivalent component parameter values.
